    • Position Summary
    • This high-profile Executive level 2 role requires a strategic thinker with high levels of motivation and drive to deliver an integrated picture of DEWR's commitments to Government, effectively managing reporting and tracking across the department (including Election Commitments, Job Summit, and Closing the Gap) for reporting to Ministers and DEWR's Executive Board. You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, but the successful applicant will be required to build and nurture solid relationships across all Groups to identify issues and risks on delivery, and opportunities to create better and sustained connections between all of DEWR's work.

      Executive Level 2 Directors operate under broad direction and provide leadership in identifying priorities, analysing complex problems, sharing knowledge and delivering outcomes that benefit the department. The capacity to foster cross-group relationships is essential for these roles.

    • Skills and capabilities we need
    • The ability to work in partnership with policy and program areas to support high quality advice to our Ministers and Executive
    • Dynamic data analytic and visualisation skills and high-order conceptual skills to enable policy leadership across the portfolio
    • Strong judgement, communication and engagement skills, with experience working collaboratively across multiple areas, and fostering relationships across the portfolio
    • Strategic awareness across the whole of department and whole of government settings and the ability to identify and improve connections between our work
    • Possess personal drive and integrity, through showing courage and frank and fearless advice
    • Experience managing competing priorities and critical deadlines, with the adaptability to respond flexibly in a changing environment.

    • This position is available to Ongoing APS employees as a temporary transfer at level or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of 12 months.
