What you'll be doing
The social worker will provide clinical services to inpatients and outpatients referred to the CLT from different medical teams within the hospital. The role offers the opportunity to provide short term and longer term therapeutic interventions, access to family therapy and social work supervision, generous professional development opportunities, a variety in clinical complexity and presentation, a supportive and encouraging environment to further develop clinical skills. This is an ideal role for social workers wanting to work towards their mental health accreditation (as the role includes providing focused psychological strategies).
The social worker will also have the opportunity to participate in teaching, research and quality improvement activities.
After hours on call work is not part of the role, however social workers can choose to join the on-call roster for the Social Work department and / or the Child Protection Unit.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Applicants holding visas with working rights may be considered for temporary appointment (up to the expiry date of their visa) where no suitable local applicant is identified. Please note : To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
