  • About this role

This is an exciting position for an experienced Senior Design Manager (major infrastructure projects), with primary focus on leading and being involved in the technical delivery of projects. This role will also drive the development of business within the Infrastructure market sector for the Arup WA

As a senior member of the team within the WA Office you will be expected to manage and co-ordinate resources and will be given responsibilities for training, mentoring and appraising the performance of staff

  • What will I do?
  • Undertake business development activities as well as project and design management tasks for various major projects. This may include leading design input on areas such as road design, PUP, pavement design and stormwater drainage design.
  • Develop and implement longer term plans in line with the Arup business strategy. This includes the positioning of the business within the local marketplace.
  • Procure work and negotiate major contracts.
  • Develop, design, and manage large, complex, long term projects. This will involve coordinating people, facilities and resources within tight timelines and in line with budgetary constraints and profit goals.
  • Establish and maintain client relations and of represent Arup at a high level nationally and internationally. This will require you to develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors relevant to the Highways market sector.
  • What will I bring?
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Achieved chartership with Engineers Australia or with equivalent association in other countries
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in highways engineering consultancy and design
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to undertake high level analysis
