The role

An opportunity has arisen within our Impact Programs team for a Volunteer Engagement Manager. This role has the flexibility to be between 0.8 FTE or full-time and is based at Queensland Children's Hospital.

The Volunteer Engagement Manager is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, safe, and inclusive programs that enhance the hospital experience for children and families. Programs and initiatives include Cuddle Care, Operating Theatre Holding Bay and Recovery, Book Bunker and Way Finding.

This role is also pivotal in coordinating the volunteer workforce lifecycle ensuring a high quality onboarding and offboarding experience for volunteers. This role will also support ongoing compliance requirements, maintain systems, general administration, and assisting the People & Culture team with key recognition and reward initiatives.

Key criteria

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following :

  • Undergraduate qualification in role related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and / or education.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a program management or volunteer coordination role.
  • Min 3 years’ experience managing the delivery of multiple programs and services in the healthcare or family service community, including completion of relevant documentation and reporting.
  • Understand the end-to-end volunteer life cycle.
  • Experience working with or managing volunteers.
  • Experience in new program design and implementation, including running pilot programs and completing evaluations.
