Role Description We are interested in hearing from applicants with various years of PQE – Lawyer / Associate / Senior Associate. This role is primarily located in Brisbane, QLD, with flexibility for remote work. We embrace flexible work practices and we are open to applications from lawyers seeking a part-time role.
The Lawyer will be responsible for assisting CLG's experienced team of senior lawyers in providing legal services to our wide variety of clients in the construction industry. Although not essential, CLG is looking for lawyers with experience in both residential and commercial construction matters and an in-depth knowledge of the QBCC Act, the BIF Act and Regulations, or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.

Your work will include :
contract drafting and risk assessment, for both residential and commercial construction projects contract administration for both residential and commercial construction projects advice on QBCC issues including complex licensing advices, internal and external reviews of QBCC decisions, advice on non-conforming building products, responding to notices regarding statutory breaches advice under the BIF Act, including subcontractors' charges and all aspects of adjudication dispute resolution on residential and commercial projects representing clients in QCAT and the Courts Required Qualifications excellent analytical and communication skills strong attention to detail and organisational skills demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team admitted to practice as a lawyer in the State of Queensland (or equivalent) a high level of integrity and professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing quality service to clients experience in construction law is preferred but may not be essential for outstanding candidates Employee benefits a salary package that mirrors your talent and dedication (including bonus structure). inclusive culture and flexibility offered with WFH options and genuine work-life balance realistic and attainable KPI's (starting at 4.5 billable hours per day) so you can enjoy life outside of work mentoring and leaders who are genuinely invested in your growth opportunity to develop strong relationships with industry bodies and clients who are building the future convenient onsite parking, with local stops, cafes and restaurants.
