Our client is a reputable health insurance provider seeking immediate support within their finance team due to increased workload.
About the role
This is a full-time 3-month contract role based in Melbourne's CBD with a flexible working model (3 days in the office per week).
Key Responsibilities :
- Run end-to-end payroll weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Calculate earnings, penalties, allowances, bonuses, terminations, and other payroll components in line with Awards, EBAs, or contracts.
- Reconcile payroll reports, audit timesheet or rostering data, and investigate discrepancies before finalising pay runs.
- Manage leave calculations and accruals, including annual, personal, long service, and parental leave.
- Process superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, and other statutory deductions accurately and on time.
- Prepare EOFY reconciliations, STP submissions, payment summaries, and support audits as needed.
- Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries, explaining payslips, deductions, and entitlements clearly.
About you
At least 2-3 years of payroll experience.Experience with financial systems such as Chris21 (preferred but not essential).Good understanding of modern awards.High attention to detail with proven accuracy and quality of work.Proactive research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Team player.Intermediate proficiency in Word and Excel.How to apply
