    Working with us

    • Base salary ranges between $98,555 and $116,189 p.a. (HWF4).
    • Providing 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse / dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave.
    • For 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,500. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,500… and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,000.
    • New Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners to Queensland Health may be eligible for an Incentive payment of up to $5,000 after 12 months.
    • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.

      About the role

      The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner will provide a range of clinical primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities and deliver specific health care programs relating to Rheumatic Heart Disease, assessing, and treating clients, maintaining health care systems, and providing advice and support whilst under clinical supervision (until credentialled by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scope of Practice Committee) in order to contribute to better health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

      Requirements

    • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander.
    • Holds current registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner as recognised by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner Board of Australia (ATSIHPBA).
    • An applicant who does not hold the Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care but holds current registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner as recognised by the ATSIHPBA will be appointed at the “No Qualification level (NQ)" for a fixed term, subject to engaging and participating in a learning agreement to obtain the required qualification(s) with essential level support. Please refer to the Role Description for further information regarding the qualifications and requirements.
    • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
    • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
    • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to : Hepatitis A / B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
