- Purpose of Job : _
- The Technical writer drives the creation of a documentation methodology and framework and maintains proper methodology for purposes of consistency and efficiency.
- The writer will be working with Engineer Teams to interpret procedures & produce a written document.
- The role will report directly into the Training Manager and be based out of our Perth office.
- Main Responsibilities : _
- Develop high quality and technically accurate procedures, technical reference guides and documentation.
- Work with all key stakeholders to gather date for creation or revision of documentation.
- Develop and maintain documentation hierarchy, content standards, formatting standards, and templates.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Demonstrates high level process analysis and technical writing skills and experience in translating complex technical information.
- A strong track record in delivering high quality technical writing documents eg Maintainer Materials, Technical Manuals, Quick Reference Guides and any required Technical Manuals.
- The ability to learn complex drafting, engineering and mining concepts quickly and explain with clarity and technical accuracy.
- To have the ability to understand the organization, the processes and the people involved and decide independently involving the next level when significant impact on time and quality of technical document delivery are involved.
- And any other project work which the Training Manager may require the Technical Writer to complete.
- Qualifications / Competencies / Skills : _
- 2-5 years of Technical Writer experience with a Bachelor's degree.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office (MS Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Proficient level of written English (ILETS or equivalent).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be desirable.
- Experience in writing policy and procedures, system documentation.
- High level of communication skills.
- Ability to work well with all levels of stakeholders.
- Ability to process info into training materials.
- Good level of coordinating different documents.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail.
