About the Role

CareSouth are currently seeking  Casual SupervisedContact Workers  to join the  CareSouthShoalhaven team.

Are you a person with mature life experience? Do youhave a background working with children and young people? Perhapsyou’re a retired education worker or child protection / welfaresector professional, or even a person with foster care experience?This position would be ideal for a person who has experienceworking with children and is looking to step into a casual role tosuit a more flexible lifestyle.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Supervised Contact Workerposition is responsible for providing high quality supervision forvisits between children and / or young persons in care and theirfamilies. This position must ensure that the child’s bestinterests are protected during contact. The aim is to facilitate asafe and constructive contact visit comprising of positiveinteractions between the parent / participant and child / children inorder to build their relationship.

We are looking for individuals who fulfil the followingcriteria :

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
  • Tertiary qualification or working towards in a relevant discipline e.g. social welfare, psychology, education counselling etc.
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent observational and report writing skills.
  • Understanding of child protection and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of child development
  • Ability to remain impartial at all times.
  • Ability to risk assess varying situations.
  • Current drivers licence, comprehensively insured vehicle, mobile phone and access to a computer.
