  • The Australian College of Applied Professions, is Australia's leading independent provider of tertiary education, delivering accredited courses in psychology, counselling, coaching, criminology, social work, law, and business management and leadership (MBA).
  • We are seeking dedicated counselling academics who are passionate about their field and are driven to develop their career in academic leadership.

These opportunities involve a combination of teaching, leading and academic administration.

You will enjoy an exciting teaching environment supported by our expanding diverse community of educators, managers and students, while providing guidance to campus academic staff who are teaching the next generation of counsellors. You will be involved in reviewing and developing innovative course and unit materials, and providing support and direction to academic staff in these tasks.

  • Responsibilities
  • include;
  • Ensuring program delivery is in accordance with professional accreditation standards.
  • Collaborating with leaders to plan and manage resources for program delivery, including recruitment and onboarding of academic staff.
  • Independent teaching in counselling units, and marking assessments as required.
  • Academic administration, including student results and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Facilitating communication across the discipline's faculty, including student enquiries, whilst developing and managing key stake holder relationships
  • Postgraduate qualifications, ideally a PhD, in a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience working and teaching in a tertiary education institution.
  • Experience in course development and program delivery.
  • Knowledge of relevant academic and professional accreditation standards.
  • Membership with a relevant professional association, including PACFA, ACA, CICA, or ICF.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work and build relationships with all levels of staff
  • You have a student-focussed approach and are committed to continuous improvement of teaching practice
  • You are driven and dedicated to developing your academic career in counselling and academic leadership
