  • What this opportunity involves

We are seeking a Finance professional to join our team in Melbourne to be our next Finance Analyst. This is an exciting account, an well-established brand name with a national portfolio of property.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will ensure the provision of timely and accurate property lease data in compliance with AASB16. You will also be involved in the analysis of the data to support stakeholders with their queries.

  • What this role involves
  • Responsible for all CRE costs including revenue and expenditure leases, monthly outgoings, statutory charges, leasing, legal and consulting fees and any other CRE related costs

    Responsible for CRE budget and forecasts, month end process, the maintenance and review of lease transactional data including categorisation, measurement and technical factors to ensure AASB16 numbers are reported accurately

    Responsible for presenting month end results with the ability to explain to Finance and non-Finance stakeholders

    Responsible for property lease analysis and configuration within the technology solution required for compliance with AASB16

    Generate AASB16 reports and reconciliations required for both month end and year end reporting

    Responsible for the calculation of discount rates and configuration within the technology solution

    Generate and distribute month end journal entries, reports and reconciliations

    Support stakeholders with queries and issues

    Management of the team's month end timetable and management of key offshore support teams

    Generate financial reporting disclosures for both Group and stand-alone statutory accounts Support finance / tax teams with any interim / year end reporting requests

    Responsible for preparation of holdover lease and option term papers due every reporting period

    Tertiary education in Finance / Accounting or related discipline

    Achievement or near completion of professional qualifications (CA or CPA) is essential

    3+ years' experience in budget preparation and forecasting in a complex commercial environment

    Prior experience in property finance and / or AASB16 is highly desirable but not a pre-requisite

    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex deliverables on a regular basis inclusive of month end

    Sound written and oral communication skills, and the capacity to deal with ambiguity and complex problems

    Possess a keen eye for detail

    Experience in investigating financial reporting issues and problem-solving

    Excellent interpersonal skills to manage diverse range of stakeholders

    Demonstrated ability to prioritise work within tight / competing deadlines

    Advanced proficiency in Excel, including sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling
