Home Assist Community Services is a not for profit organisation dedicated to providing a range of support services to older adults and individuals with disabilities in the Wide Bay. We aim to help individuals to remain living independently at home for as long as possible by providing assistance with home maintenance, modifications, home care packages, commonwealth home support program, nursing and OT. In essence, Home Assist Community Services strives to be a comprehensive support system for individuals who want to maintain their independence and remain living safely and comfortably in their own homes.

About the role

Home Assist Community Services is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis in Maryborough, QLD, covering the Wide Bay Region. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients regain and maintain their independence and quality of life through tailored rehabilitation programs and assistive technology solutions.

What you'll be doing Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify clients' needs, goals and functional abilities

Developing and implementing individualised occupational therapy treatment plans to address physical, cognitive and psychosocial challenges

Recommending and sourcing appropriate assistive equipment and technologies to support client independence

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic, coordinated care

Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records

Participating in team meetings and continuous professional development

What we're looking for Degree or postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy - new graduates please apply!

Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Demonstrated clinical skills in assessment, goal-setting and evidence-based interventions

Knowledge of assistive technology and equipment prescription

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
