On behalf of our client, Brunel is seeking an experienced and qualified Safety Advisor to join the team. As a Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment by providing guidance, leadership, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and best practices. This is a short-term contract opportunity for a period of 3 months.

- Influence positive safety interactions and drive practical outcomes while ensuring industry best practices are applied.
- Provide mentorship and Safety Leadership through positive engagement with the client and Commissioning Management Teams across the project.
- Collaborate with the Commissioning Management Team to ensure alignment with FMG Health and Safety Management System, current legislation, and best practices.
- Assist in conducting incident investigations at the site level, complete incident / investigation reports, and implement corrective actions as required.
- Promote the FMG Major Hazards and Great Day Programs to ensure the health and safety of all personnel in the workplace.
- Assist in the development of Team-Based Risk Assessments and Critical Risk Assessment Workshops.
- Generate concise reports on commissioning OHS performance, including statistical reporting as required.
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and review of the site Safety Management System.
- Assist key stakeholders in interpreting WHS compliance requirements, particularly for license and permit obligations.
- Reinforce the company's commitment to preventing injuries, illnesses, and property damage.
- Monitor compliance with the FMG OHS System on the project and maintain appropriate WHS records.
- Analyze and interpret commissioning trends, information, and data and report on identified trends.
- Lead by example by displaying positive safe behaviors with a focus on continuous improvement and actively participating in all aspects of WHS.
- About you
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in construction, processing, mining operations, manufacturing logistics, or similar industries.
- Ability to lead and influence safety behaviors throughout all levels of the project.
- Experience in managing contractors.
- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent).
- Lead Investigator (ICAM) certification.
- Construction Induction Training (White Card or equivalent).
Preferred qualifications :
Certificate IV in Training and Assessing.Australian Institute of Health and Safety OHS Practitioner, OHS Professional, or Chartered OHS Professional.Lead Auditor Qualified (WHS Management Systems).Our offerThe role is :
