The Company Our client is one of Australia's leading Medical Dermatology clinics offering Medical, Laser and Aesthetic solutions all in one location. They are focused on innovation and remaining up to date with the latest advances in Dermatological care.
The Role The Head of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the Nursing and Laser operations within the clinic, ensuring high-quality patient care, adherence to clinical protocols, and staff development. This role provides leadership and supervision to the Nursing and Dermal teams, fosters a culture of safety, manages compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborates with Dermatologists to optimise patient care. Additionally, the role involves strategic planning, staff education, and staff recruitment to support clinic growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Supervision Foster a collaborative, respectful, and positive work environment, resolving conflicts when necessary.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Nurses and Dermal staff to ensure high-quality patient care.Promote and facilitate effective collaboration between the nursing, laser, and administrative teams to enhance workflow efficiency.Delegate tasks efficiently to ensure appropriate workload distribution among staff.Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and assist with professional development.Conduct weekly team meetings and one-on-one check-ins to address staff concerns and provide support.Develop performance goals for nursing staff and regularly evaluate their performance.Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.Clinical Management, Competency & Training Oversee the day-to-day Nursing and Dermal operations, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.Take ownership of the policy and procedure manual, updating clinical protocols in line with best practices.Communicate and implement policy updates across the Nursing / Dermal staff, ensuring compliance.Collaborate with Dermatologists to ensure accurate implementation of laser treatment plans and patient quotes.Lead ongoing clinical training and skills assessments for nursing staff.Develop and implement a continuous professional development (CPD) program.Stay current on best practices, new treatments, and nursing technologies.Organise regular in-service education sessions and ensure staff compliance with mandatory training.Quality Control and Compliance Ensure the nursing and dermal teams comply with clinic policies and procedures.Conduct regular audits to review clinical documentation.Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.Ensure all adverse events, near misses, or safety concerns are reported and documented.Lead the investigation of clinical incidents and work to resolve issues collaboratively.About You Strong leadership experience in a clinical setting.Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration.Strong knowledge of Dermatology procedures, Laser technologies, and patient care best practices.Experience in staff training, development, and performance management.Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.What's on Offer?
