Introduction The Network Engineer (Infrastructure Specialist) is responsible for managing and supporting Azure-native network components within a large-scale, enterprise-grade cloud environment. This includes maintaining existing Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Load Balancers, route tables, and associated infrastructure supporting high availability and disaster recovery scenarios. The engineer will play a critical role in ensuring secure, stable, and well-governed cloud networking operations in line with Microsoft best practices and client policy requirements.
Role and Responsibilities Implement Azure cloud network architectures (VNets, subnets, NSGs, etc.) Manage and maintain cloud network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and scalability Configure and troubleshoot network security groups, Azure Firewall, and other security controls Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate network infrastructure with application deployments Develop and maintain documentation for network architectures and configurations Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network resources Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree
Required Technical and Professional Expertise Must be an Australian Citizen Baseline Security Clearance required and eligible to obtain NV1 Security Clearance Must be available to work onsite five days a week Experience with Azure cloud networking (VNets, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, etc.) Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP / IP, DNS, VPNs, etc.) Experience with Azure networking services (Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, etc.) Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Azure CLI, etc.) Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Preference given to candidates willing to relocate to Ballarat Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Network Engineer) Experience with hybrid network architectures (Azure-ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site VPNs) Knowledge of network monitoring and analytics tools Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI / CD pipelines, etc.) Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Information Technology Industries IT Services and IT Consulting
