Primary role as dental assistant and secondary admin and reception duties. Must be willing to learn and train in new specialist patient management software and advanced 4 handed dentistry skills. 100% clinical work performed under an operating microscope.Position is open for both part time or full time ( 3-4 days a week : Monday to Thursday).
Qualifications & experience
- Higher School Certificate or equivalent
- Certificate 3 and or 4 in dental assisting essential or currently training / past experience in assisting or dental background.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare them for scheduled dental procedures;
- Provide assistance to the Specialist dentist throughout the course of procedures including advanced skills in 4 handed dentistry in passing instruments, materials etc (training will be provided), use of dental materials and their prep, operating suction or other appropriate equipment.
- Prepare the treatment room as directed by the dental operator and ensure correct instruments and materials are available for use;
- Clean and sterilize the instruments prior to and after treatment;
- Clean the surgery and treatment room in accordance with the practice's policies and procedures, including decontamination procedures for infection control;
- Provide the practice with administrative assistance, including the maintenance and re-stock of dental and office supplies;
- Prepare accounts and collect payments in accordance with the practice's policies and procedures;
- Schedule appointments for patients and maintain detailed records of patient's treatments; and
Undertake limited reception and customer service duties, including, but not limited to answering the telephone and carrying out general office duties.
