The Media Relations Manager will play a vital role in shaping and protecting L'Oréal's brand image by developing and executing proactive media relations strategies. This role requires a highly motivated and experienced communications professional with a strong understanding of the media landscape, excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of securing positive media coverage. The Media Relations Manager will work collaboratively across various departments to ensure consistent messaging and maximize media opportunities.
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Media Strategies
- Create and execute comprehensive media relations plans aligned with overall business objectives, brand priorities, and marketing campaigns.
- Build and Maintain Media Relationships
- Cultivate strong relationships with key journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media outlets across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
- Proactive Media Outreach
- Identify and pursue media opportunities to secure positive coverage for L'Oréal's brands, products, initiatives, and corporate news.
- Reactive Media Handling
- Respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner, providing accurate and compelling information. Manage crisis communications as needed, in coordination with the Director of Communications.
- Content Creation
- Develop high-quality written materials, including press releases, media alerts, pitches, talking points, fact sheets, and backgrounders.
- Event Management
- Support the planning and execution of media events, press conferences, product launches, and other relevant activities.
- Media Monitoring and Analysis
- Track and analyze media coverage to assess the effectiveness of media relations efforts and identify areas for improvement. Report on key media metrics and provide insights to inform future strategies.
- Budget Management
- Manage media relations budgets and track expenses.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience in media relations, preferably in the beauty, cosmetics, or consumer goods industry.
- Established network of media contacts.
- Strong understanding of the media landscape and current trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in media monitoring and analysis tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships.
