Teacher - Matraville Public School

Matraville Public School has an enrolment of 240 students. 70% of students are from a language background other than English, with approximately 35 different language groups represented within the school community. 6% of students identify as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander.

Matraville Public School has a dedicated staff who are committed to providing positive learning experiences for all students. The staff work cohesively and collaboratively to support the school, its students and the diverse community. Parents and carers are valued partners in their child's education and are supportive of the school and its programs. The school has a strong focus on supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of all students. Extra curricula activities are available in areas such as dance, choir, sport, debating and chess.

The school values and celebrates its diverse and inclusive community, and offers a warm and welcoming environment. Bangla is offered as a Community Language to those students who are native speakers. The school facilities are also shared with a number of community groups which are attended by members of the wider community.

• Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6), with demonstrated capacity to deliver differentiated literacy and numeracy programs with an understanding of the new syllabus requirements.
• Exceptional classroom management skills and ability to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment to improve student wellbeing and promote student engagement.
• Proven ability to embed meaningful use of technology in effective classroom practice and the capacity to take on the role of Computer Coordinator across the school.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with demonstrated capacity to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with students, staff and the community.
