We are continuously open to career conversations with hydrogeologists across the country.

In late 2024 IGS joined forces with Water Technology, adding one of Australia’s leading groundwater consultancies to our expertise. As a result, we are now growing this team across Australia – we already have established offices with groundwater capability in Adelaide, Darwin and Perth, so are looking to expand these whilst also building new teams in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

We are actively seeking expressions of interest from hydrogeologists at all levels across Australia, regardless of location. We currently have several vacancies to work on challenging field, analytical and modelling projects in the mining, agriculture, water supply, renewable energy and environmental sectors. We are also seeking interest from those who would like to explore career opportunities with our Groundwater team. You may not be ready to move, but you want to start conversations now to plan your next career move. We welcome the conversation.

Who are we looking for?

We are open to conversations with graduates to Principals. We are particularly keen on those with Tertiary qualifications in Hydrogeology, Engineering or Geology who demonstrate

• A keen interest in developing new skills, or finding new ways to apply their existing skills, to offer robust and defensible science to our industry, government and NGO clients.
• Experience in hydrochemistry, groundwater impact assessment, or numerical modelling with uncertainty (all levels).
• Initiative, ambition and an ability to work as part of a team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to develop, plan, cost, and implement projects
• Experience in preparing proposals
• Client engagement and relationship management skills
• Strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills
• Experience in coordinating and completing technical investigations, including field and / or office-based assessments.
• Experience as an independent expert peer reviewer for Government agencies
