We are a global company, and our products—including mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, utility vehicles and accessories—can be found all over the world.JOB SUMMARY : The Apprentice is responsible for assisting Workshop Technicians with all functions within the workshop including carrying out pre-delivery of machines, service and repairs to customer and company owned Elevating Work Platforms, telehandlers and lighting towers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.Learning about and assisting with the evaluation of machine performanceInspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specificationsAssisting with installing, testing, repairing and modifying electronic and hydraulic equipmentConducting pre delivery inspections and assessing machines to ensure they are in good working orderAssisting with conducting repairs and maintenance of customer and JLG owned elevating work platforms, telehandlers and lighting towersAssisting with any duties as required including general cleaning and tidying of the workshopAbide by specific site instructions including Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental policiesResponsible for completing all appropriate paperwork and inspection forms required by ANZ Standards and also by customer and / or site requirementsAssist with conducting three monthly and annual inspections of machines in accordance with JLG and Australian industry standardsSanding, painting and general trade assistant duties as required.General ad-hoc duties as requiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The candidate must be committed to undertaking a 4 year apprenticeship which includes on the job training and block theory and practical training with a registered training organization.
Qualifications will include either a cert III in Elevating Work Platforms or a Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology.Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbalGood listening skills including the ability to follow instructionAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers and quantitiesMature minded and reliablePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Mechanically minded - previous experience with mechanics, electrics or hydraulics such as tinkering with cars, motorbikes etcGood attention to detailStrong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing
