The Opportunity :

Exciting opportunity for a Reception / Admin assistant seeking part-time hours  join a well-established accounting firm.

This role will see you working with a variety of small-medium size businesses, partnerships and sole traders providing basic business accounting services.

The Role :

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive first impression. Beyond reception duties, you will support the firm’s daily operations through organised administrative assistance. Your responsibilities will include managing documentation, maintaining accurate records, and assisting the accounting team with various tasks as needed.  Additionally, you will build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, contributing to the firm’s professional growth.

Responsibilities :

  • Preparing and lodging tax returns (individual, business, and corporate).
  • Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations (GST, PAYG, income tax, etc.).
  • Preparing and submitting Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
  • Advising clients or organisations on tax-saving strategies.
  • Assisting with tax structuring for businesses to minimize liabilities.
  • Providing guidance on deductions, offsets, and exemptions.

What do we need from you :

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - both phone based and in person.
  • A friendly and professional demeanour as the face of the business
  • A keen eye for detail, impeccable organisation and excellent time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to problem solve and manage conflicting priorities
  • Prior experience in administration, reception, or a similar role will be highly regarded but not essential.
  • Whilst the position is part-time (3 days per week) it would be required to flex to cover for annual leave etc. when other staff take holidays.

    Flexibility and a can-do attitude will be critical to your success in this role.

  • On offer is a pay rate of $65K+super (pro-rata)
  • Standard office working hours of 9 : 00am-5 : 00pm
  • Office based in Modbury with onsite parking
