Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic, and highly motivated Administration and Procurement Officer to join our Commercial team. This position will be responsible for the end to end execution of the contract lifecycle within the Snowy 2.0 project. This role is considered to be a development role for a capable and driven individual who is prepared to learn on the job. Support through mentoring and training will be provided by the existing extended Commercial team at Snowy Hydro.

Reporting to the Commercial Lead, your key responsibilities will include :

Receiving and documenting new requests for purchasing, and developing the scope of work with key stakeholders

Reviewing and confirming budget availability and escalation of gaps to the budget plan

Preparation, documentation and processing of low risk procurement and contractual items through established project methods within timeframes

Ensuring all contracts are recorded and archived appropriately in key business systems (AODocs, Google Drive, Gatekeeper, Ellipse, Prism)

Coordination of supplier payments including reviewing contract requirements, coordinating approvals to ensure payments are processed effectively and with a high degree of accuracy

Maintaining and contributing to commercial registers and reports.

Attendance at meetings and minute taking.

  • To be successful in this role, you will need

Strong written & verbal communications

High level of attention to detail with the ability to adapt and learn promptly

Basic understanding of business commerce, accounting, commercial administration or legal processes is favourable

Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and the ability to use moderately advanced functions (e.g. vlookup) is preferred

Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally

A self starter who is able to work both alone and as part of a team
