About the Role

A great opportunity now exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Trainer & Assessor with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our Perth team. This full-time position will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of high quality training to clients and staff; and is responsible for assisting and monitoring our induction and apprenticeship programs.

Wormald conducts Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) programs through the Wormald Registered Training Organisation (RTO Provider Number 2839), and also provides non-accredited emergency response training.  Our training services meet the needs of our clients to equip them with the knowledge and confidence to address emergency response incidents coupled with supporting our current workforce through upskilling their training in the fire protection industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, developing and delivering internal and external training programs.
  • Delivering accredited RTO training courses aligned to ASQA compliance requirements, including Cert II in Fire Protection Inspection & Testing, and First Attack Firefighting Equipment Training.
  • Delivering non-accredited training programs to clients, including Warden Training, Emergency Awareness Training and Fire Extinguisher Training.
  • Taking ownership and mentoring of the Wormald apprenticeship program.
  • Becoming the primary point of contact for new starter induction programs.
  • Reviewing systems, resources, standards, and practices to improve the effectiveness of training.
  • Maintaining training records and preparing reports.
  • Key qualities we are looking for include, but are not limited to :

  • Previous experience within the fire industry, would be advantageous.
  • Current Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
  • Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing.
  • EAHL Entitlements.
  • Understanding of RTO Standards.
  • Knowledge of Fire Industry Standards & WHS legislation.
  • Current WA Driver’s Licence.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft product suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work unsupervised.
  • White Card and relevant licences.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and time management.
  • Strong focus on quality and great customer service.
  • Good personal presentation.
