An opportunity has become available for a
Compliance Officerwithin the VENTORA Group, reporting directly to our Chief Legal Officer the purpose of the role will to be ensure the group adheres to all relevant regulations and company policies. In consultation with the Chief Legal Officer, this role will implement a comprehensive compliance framework overseeing areas such as contract management, supplier due diligence, and risk mitigation strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain a robust compliance frameworkMonitor and ensure adherence to mandatory reportingConduct thorough due diligence on potential suppliersIdentify and mitigate potential compliance risksMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Australian building codes, industry standards, and procurement regulationsCollaborate with the procurement team to ensure all purchases comply with established standardsConduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on procurement compliance proceduresMaintain, update and roll out of template agreements in collaboration with cross functional stakeholdersLiaise with the Senior Leadership Team and external law firms regarding corporate secretarial mattersReview, draft and / or develop non-complex legal documents (e.g. Non-Disclosure Agreements) and communications independentlyIndependently handle legal and / or factual research as requiredAssist with the management of legal issues on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the Chief Legal OfficerAbout YouMinimum 3+ years of experience in compliance type roleStrong understanding of Australian compliance regulations and best practicesStrong understanding of ILPA, Modern Slavery, FSC Certification and Climate related financial disclosuresPrior In-house paralegal and compliance (preferred)Tertiary qualification in Law (preferred)Relevant knowledge of legal principles and sound legal advisory skillsAbility to communicate confidently and effectively with the business and cross-functional teamsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenWhat's On OfferWork for a premium industry leading brandGenuine investment in leading technologiesOngoing development and career opportunitiesGenerous discounts on our extensive suite of productsOn-site parkingAbility to schedule leave every year at ChristmasAdditional birthday leaveYour Next StepsAgencies will only be engaged if required.
