Principal - Energy and Climate Changeto drive the implementation of key strategic company energy and climate change initiatives. Based in our Brisbane Corporate Office and reporting direct to the Executive Vice President Chief Technical and Projects Officer, your ability to support, coach and develop group capability will ensure success in this challenging newly created senior in-house specialist appointment.Key tasks and responsibilitiesIdentify Site based _energy generation opportunities_ (solar, wind, small hydro, heat transfer etc).Establish and implement group energy and fuel monitoring processes.Undertaking Site energy use audits and Identify energy reduction / efficiency actions and Operational Plans.Research and track innovations by OEMs in alternative (non-carbon) fuels and work with global operations to assess and adopt innovations.Maximise clean energy consumed at operations by identifying and engaging actual and potential commercially viable clean energy providers.Provide in house technical knowledge to support operational implementation of energy reduction and transition plans.Establish and implement group reporting to allow comparison of energy use performance between operations and against global industry.Track the energy management performance of all operations against their plans and collective delivery of OceanaGold's targets.Provide QA / QC of data collected and reported for the OceanaGold Sustainability Report related to energy consumption, GHG emissions and total carbon footprint.Interface with Sustainability team members to translate emerging policy into required operational actions.QualificationsTertiary qualifications in engineeringMore than 15 years of experience in developing and implementing best practice levels of asset management standards, systems, frameworks and structures to support business units spread across multiple global locations.10 years plus experience in interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver continuous improvement objectives within budgeted expectations.Strong demonstrated experience providing guidance and training on the identification, assessment and management of risk.Excellent planning, analysis and reporting skills as well as the ability to work at an advanced level to develop strategies for management of stakeholder expectations.The ability to work independently while guiding and training others on managing projects and / or programs within desired cost, time and quality parameters.Additional Information
