SCOPE
The Site Manager is responsible for managing the safe and effective manufacturing & distribution of products, delivered in accordance with Evergreens quality assurance and customer service specifications. Supervise site-based team of 25, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)
Develop WHS plans aligned with Evergreen’s safety policies and legal requirements.
Conduct hazard identification, safety audits, report incidents via the Safety portal, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain site housekeeping, SDS register, Safety Committee meetings, and induct all new staff, visitors, and contractors.
Manufacturing & Despatch
Deliver manufactured goods in line with production plans, capacity, and budget targets.
Monitor and report variances in actual vs. budgeted production expenses.
Manage dispatch based on customer order requirements and supervise transport providers.
Inventory & Stock Control
Ensure all site transactions comply with SAP processes and finance protocols.
Perform cycle counts, stock rotation, and submit adjustment requests for accurate stock records.
Oversee purchasing and receiving activities per Evergreen’s SAP Purchase policy.
Purchasing & Goods Receiving
Raise purchase orders within delegated authority and obtain approval for higher-value purchases.
Reconcile received shipments with supplier invoices for accuracy.
Ensure goods and services are recorded and compliant with internal controls.
Production Planning & Site Operations
Plan site activities including production schedules, audits, major projects, and maintenance.
Train staff and contractors to perform tasks efficiently and to standard.
Align daily operations with Evergreen’s production, safety, and quality requirements.
Develop and implement an annual, engineering-based maintenance plan for all equipment.
Maintain a spare parts inventory for critical machinery.
Track repair costs, update financial records, and submit maintenance accruals.
People Management
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and policy compliance for all site-based staff.
Manage internal teams and external contractors in line with Evergreen policies.
Resolve grievances as per the Evergreen Garden Care Employment Contract and industrial awards.
Quality Management
Maintain quality systems in collaboration with Quality Control to meet standards.
Report weekly on quality breaches and corrective actions taken.
Ensure consistent compliance with internal and external quality requirements.
Communication & Reporting
Lead weekly toolbox meetings and report weekly site KPIs.
Participate in monthly operational and financial reviews with documented results.
Education and / or Experience
Tertiary qualifications in engineering, production, and / or maintenance
Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or management role in a manufacturing and distribution environment
Proven experience managing production teams and productivity metrics (e.g. OEE)
Familiar with heavy plant, equipment, and spare parts management
Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
Strong WHS leadership with hands-on experience in risk assessments and hazard identification
Solid understanding of state-based safety regulations and codes of practice
