A growing Melbourne-based Accounting firm is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our remote team.
This position offers flexibility for candidates ranging from junior to intermediate skill levels, with compensation of $6-8 USD per hour based on experience and capabilities.Key Responsibilities : Daily Bookkeeping : Manage daily bookkeeping and account reconciliation in Xero with precisionFinancial Processing : Process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and assist with payroll functionsTax Support : Support the preparation of workpapers for Australian tax clientsReporting : Maintain financial records and prepare regular reportsData Analysis : Utilise Excel for financial data analysis and reportingTax Preparation : Assist with individual, company, and trust tax returns using Xero TaxQuality Assurance : Review and verify the accuracy of bookkeeping entries, reconciliations and financial reports prepared by other team membersQuality Control : Identify and correct discrepancies in financial records and ensure compliance with Australian accounting standardsProcess Improvement : Suggest and implement improvements to existing bookkeeping workflowsRequired Skills : Experience with Xero reporting functions and dashboard customisationSkills in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPExperience with Australian individual, company, and trust tax returns (desired for intermediate level)Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skillsSelf-motivation with ability to work independentlyReliable high-speed internet connection and backup power sourceStrong written and verbal English communication skillsThis position offers progression opportunities with regular performance reviews and the chance to increase your responsibility and hourly rate as you develop your expertise.
