There will be a particular focus on managing HSE administrative processes, partnering with the business to improve safety culture and effectively using a range of HSE tools and processes to implement and continuously improve HSE programs.

- Key Responsibilities
- Proactively promote a healthy, safe and environmentally responsible working environment in accordance with legislation and Perenti Group requirements.
- Coordinating and facilitating the incident investigation and reporting processes.
- Coach line leaders ensuring adherence to Group Standards.
- Proactively engage front line leaders to coach and build capability in HSE related activities such as verification of critical controls, compliance to HSE risk registers and other matters.
- Continuously review and monitor HSE published documents.
- Provide regular progress reports on the HSE Safety Management System.
- Liaise with the relevant state statutory bodies as required i.e. : Department of Mines and Petroleum / Worksafe etc. and drive education of wider team by effectively disseminating safety information including changes to legislation to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of HSE processes and systems.
- Oversee, manage and update HSE related induction and training of employees.
- Analysis of HSE data and compilation of weekly and monthly reports.
- Conduct in-house training and verification of activities to a high standard.
- Conduct regular hydration, drug, and alcohol testing.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review the site Safety Management Plans.
- Participate in HSE team meetings, training, and planning. Involvement with wider company HSE team to provide continuous improvement and leading practice at BTP.
- About You
- Minimum Diploma of Health and Safety, with tertiary qualifications.
- 5yrs experience in a similar role in heavy mobile equipment preferred.
- Interpret Legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards & relevant industry practices.
- Conduct incident investigations, preferably ICAM Lead Investigator trained.
- Current First Aid Certificate & Qualified drug and alcohol testing.
- Valid and current 'C' class Australian driver's licence.
- Familiarity with ChemAlert is highly regarded.
- Ability to travel to BTP workplaces in WA, QLD, and NSW.
- Proactive, highly motivated with a team-oriented mindset.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Advanced Word skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, provide professional discretion and good decision-making skills.
