The role Reporting to the Senior Principal Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in carrying out a number of statutory processes to support Tribunal operations, including overseeing the management of records of proceedings, processing requests for statements of reasons and coordinating material to and from the Mental Health Court. Additionally, the role extends to providing policy and research services, preparing documents, delivering training, and assisting in compliance-related matters.
This multifaceted position requires a blend of organisational skills, effective communication with various stakeholders and the ability to identify issues and suggestions process improvements. The Policy Officer ensures the Tribunal's operations run smoothly, maintaining compliance with legislative standards and protocols while contributing to policy and procedure development and education initiatives.
The successful personTo excel in this position, you need a solid understanding of, or the capacity to gain knowledge about, the Mental Health Act 2016, the Forensic Disability Act 2011, the Human Rights Act 2019, and the Recording of Evidence Act 1962. Additionally, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, encompassing the ability to convey information clearly to diverse stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
Moreover, you should demonstrate the capability to independently assess and analyse reports, procedures, and guidelines, pinpoint issues, propose enhancements, and exhibit a steadfast commitment to maintaining high service standards, with a proven ability to solve problems as needed.
