The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced & enthusiastic Safety and Compliance Manager to join the well-established Qube team in Queensland. The Health, Safety, and Compliance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and compliance programs specific to the transportation of ammonium nitrate. This role ensures adherence to all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials transport regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and environmental requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with drivers, operations staff, and management to promote a culture of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of the scope of operations, including mining operations, working environment, current work practices and procedures
• Assist site personnel in the development of site and task specific risk assessments, operational procedures and work instruction and conduct ongoing reviews of the effectiveness and compliance to risk control measures.
• Lead and conduct incident investigations, including the preparation of the investigation report.
• Conduct site compliance inspections and HSE audits.
• Assist in the management of Workers Compensation claims and Rehabilitation Plans / Programs
• Provide immediate support for incident investigations, hazard management and follow-up on closeout actions
• Identify and implement effective HSE initiatives
