Our Cyber Security Assurance and Operations (CSAO) team is dedicated to maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our ICT systems, supporting the University's mission to enable positive academic, research, and business outcomes. Based at our Parramatta or Hawkesbury campuses, with remote work options considered, CSAO is integral to our Information Technology and Digital Services unit, managing cyber security risks and incident responses to ensure a secure digital environment.

As a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, you will be at the forefront of protecting the University from emerging and evolving cyber threats. Your role will involve conducting in-depth analysis of cyber threats, identifying trends and attack patterns, and providing actionable intelligence to inform our security strategy and response efforts. This position combines tactical and strategic threat analysis, working closely with our Operations team to enhance the University's security posture and respond to live threats in real-time. You will also contribute long-term insights that shape our broader security framework, ensuring a proactive and resilient approach to cybersecurity.

You are a highly analytical, proactive, and communicative cyber security professional with experience in threat intelligence analysis. Your qualifications in Computer Science, Intelligence Studies, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, will be essential in helping you thrive in this role. You should be familiar with key threat analysis methodologies, such as MITRE ATT&CK, and able to research and assess emerging cyber risks using tools like SIEM and EDR.

Your ability to clearly communicate complex technical information, both in written reports and verbal briefings, will be crucial in driving informed decision-making across the organisation. You will be skilled in analysing large datasets to identify patterns and trends and be comfortable providing consultative advice to internal stakeholders on threat risks and mitigation strategies. Most importantly, you will bring a commitment to continually improving security processes and responding quickly to threats in a rapidly evolving landscape.
