We have an opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced tax and business services Accountant with a keen interest in taking their career to the next level by joining our vibrant West Perth team. In this role, you will gain exposure to a variety of responsibilities and be presented with many opportunities to learn new skills.

Your role includes but is not limited to the following :

  • Maintaining and developing client relationships
  • Preparation of financial statements and taxation returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
  • Prepare management accounts, analyse reports, provide business consulting advice
  • Preparation of BAS, IAS, and FBT returns
  • Strategic tax planning and management
  • Assist in transitioning and maximising clients' use of cloud accounting software solutions and add-on apps
  • Liaise directly with clients, senior accountants, partners, the ATO, and other regulatory bodies

To be successful in this position, you should have :

  • Minimum of at least 5 years' experience in an accounting practice
  • CA / CPA qualified or currently progressing towards them
  • Excellent work ethic and attitude to deliver quality service
  • Self-motivated with a desire to develop a high level of professional skills
  • Sound knowledge of accounting and taxation issues
  • IT skills suitable for a dynamic business environment
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and autonomously
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience using small / medium business accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
  • Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns using Xero
  • Be a proactive and lateral thinker who enjoys challenging assumptions and solving problems
