The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Development Engineer to lead our Development Engineering team. In this key role, you will oversee all engineering and public infrastructure matters related to private development projects across the MidCoast. You’ll ensure projects meet the highest standards of compliance while delivering excellent customer service. This is your chance to contribute to the sustainable growth of the region, ensuring the long-term integrity of public assets. Key responsibilities include :

• Leading the Development Engineering team, driving innovative solutions and maintaining high standards for engineering assessments and advice.
• Managing the assessment of development applications and applications for civil works while ensuring compliance with Council's infrastructure-related conditions through development engineering inspections / surveillance.
• Providing strategic leadership to implement best practices in development engineering and public infrastructure management.
• Developing systems to monitor and report on the team’s performance and ensuring services are delivered on time and within budget.
• Supporting a positive organisational culture by fostering collaboration across teams, mentoring staff, and driving continuous improvement in processes and standards.

Salary :

Location : This position is based at our state-of-the-art Administration Centre, Yalawanyi Ganya, in Taree. You may also be required to work across other MidCoast Council sites.

Tenure : Permanent, Full-Time.
