About the roleForklift Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift for the purposes of loading and unloading vehicles and moving freight to and from storage areas. They must ensure that trucks are loaded in accordance with the load sheet, all stabilisation equipment is used as required and fridge motor temperatures are set correctly and checked prior to vehicle departure.
This role requires you to work every second Saturday.Duties you can expect with this role include :
Operating controls to align forklifts and raise and lower forks to stack and unstack items in the warehousesHandling fresh produce and general freight in a busy terminalEnsuring goods are stored in correct areas so that they can be easily located when loading trailersMonitoring equipment operation visually through gauges and instruments and through computerised monitoring equipmentBeing mindful of equipment to identify wear and maintenance requirementsPerforming stock takes as requiredPrimarily loading dry, fresh, refrigerated, frozen freight onto trailers for distributionAbout the requirementsHave a valid Forklift LicenceA current HR or HC licence will be highly regardedBe reliable, punctual and committed to the roleHave clear communication and writing skillsHave a can-do attitudeBe willing to undertake a pre-employment medical check-up including a drug and alcohol testPast experience in logistic, warehousing or transportation or experience pick packing fresh, frozen or chilled produce is well respected for this role but not a minimum requirement.
