Snowy Monaro Regional Council employs over 450 staff from all walks of life and working with us will give you the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful surrounds, progress your career and make a difference in our local community.About the RoleContribute to the effective delivery of resource and waste services to the community in accordance with agreed performance standardsFacilitate accurate screening and sorting of incoming waste to minimise quantities directed to the landfill and ensure that all materials are deposited in site specific locationsPromote best practice methods in waste management to the public in a friendly cooperative mannerMaintain accurate Council records including timesheets and report operational issues to supervisor including any infringements to Council's policies and proceduresContribute to tool box talks as required and follow written and oral instructionsContribute to the performance of Council : demonstrate professional conduct, make the best use of knowledge, experience and skills and be accountable for own decisions and actionsContribute to a safe workplace : comply with legislative and organisational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actionsAvailability for both weekdays and weekend workAbout YouTo be successful in this role you will have :
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Asset Management Systems.Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to manipulate data and prepare reports.A current Class "C" drivers licencePosition requires the incumbent to be physically fit, capable of inspecting infrastructure, climbing stairs, walking distances and carrying tools and equipment.Desirable criteriaExperience in writing reports in Crystal Reports or similarExperience in Local Government operations.A diploma or similar qualification in Asset Management, or 3 years relevant skills and experience.Operational knowledge and understanding of Geographical Information SystemsDemonstrated experience in writing SQL QueriesBasic knowledge of the NSW Local Government Act and RegulationsAbility to drive vehicles with manual transmissionHow to ApplyEnquiriesFor any enquiries relating the role, please contact our Recruitment Officer
