On behalf of our client, a global energy company founded in Australia, we are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join their company project team supporting field execution teams in the safe delivery of projects.
This position reports to the Project Health & Safety Team Leader and may require periodic travel.
Duties and responsibilities include :
Ensuring Health and Safety activities are carried out in best interests of the Company and enabling Contractors to deliver the Works;Providing risk-based leadership, guidance, governance and coordination of Company Health and Safety activities;Assuring, verifying and influencing Contractors work product and practices to ensure conformance and compliance to approved plansSupporting and enabling Contractor to meet requirements of Asset Safety Report, Procedures and Contract requirementsLiaising with Contractors team to support understanding of interfaces, expectations and requirementsProviding support to the Project team for implementation of Company HSE Management requirements and Verification Plan activitiesLeading Company training and awareness programs as requiredSupporting and coordinating Company led Health and Safety activities;Supporting and demonstrating a 'One Team' Project culture and positive team climateManagement of Company event reporting system for all Project related events, investigation findings and actionsMonitoring Contractors plans and work activities to ensure risk management processes have been effectively appliedParticipating in Contractor led Health and Safety activities, providing insights and support as requiredProviding technical Health and Safety advice and support to the Company Project teamParticipating in incident investigations and 'root cause' analysis; anPerforming Health and Safety reporting to Project Leadership team.About youDiploma or above in Occupational Health & Safety or relatable field.10+ years working in HSE within oil and gas and / or construction industry.A thorough understanding of all relevant WA Health and Safety Legislation and Safety Case regimeStrong communication skills, both verbal and written.Experience in incident investigations and root cause analysis.A continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to problem solving.Demonstrated ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders.Site-based construction experience in Australia.Preferred Skills and Attributes
