Victoria Police is seeking a Project Officer to support the successful delivery of new police stations over the next 18 months. This role will work within the Facilities Division of Victoria Police and report to the Project Director, Capital Build. The project officer will be assisting the following projects :

Your duties will includeManaging the delivery of construction projects using an appropriate project management methodology.Identifying and managing project risks including maintaining a risk register.Prepare reports and papers such as weekly and monthly reports, ministerial and steering committee reports.Attend design and construction meetings and positively contribute to influence delivery of projects on time and within budget.Conduct regular site inspections and report on progress.Chairing and presenting in meetings to stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.Report on project budget, review and report on expenditure and assisting with contract management.Raising purchase orders and ensuring timely processing of invoices.Engaging effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to drive quality outcomes.Contributing to a positive work environment.As the successful applicant, you will haveDemonstrated experience in delivering capital works or major projects.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and ability to read and understand technical drawings and construction plans.Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and effectively mitigating risks.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in the use of Oracle Aconex, SharePoint, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project.Ability to engage with consultants, contractors and stakeholders at all levels.Ability to work under pressure, including occasionally under tight timeframes.Ability to work autonomously, use your own initiative, and be self-motivated and driven.Have a positive can-do attitude.A strong commitment to Operational Health and Safety and awareness of working on a construction site.A strong commitment to Operational Infrastructure Department's strategy goals - supporting our people and embracing customer centricity, innovation and collaboration in our delivery of services.A current driver's licence is required to attend site visits.A construction induction card or willingness to obtain one.Relevant qualifications and / or professional accreditations in construction and / or project management is desired.Requirements and relevant informationOne (1) x full-time, Fixed Term position to 30 / 06 / 2026 is available.This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.This position will be required to attend weekly and fortnightly site visits in Narre Warren and Clyde North and supports working from home for a maximum of two days a week.Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.ResumeApplications close midnight, Sunday 1 December 2024.About UsVictoria Police has a dedicated workforce of more than 22,000 employees consisting of police, protective services officers, police custody officers, and public service staff.
