The Data Analyst sits within Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance (SWC), a branch of the PSCC in the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department). The SWC branch provides process, systems and services to support the department to meet its responsibilities under health and safety laws (Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Dangerous Goods Act 1985 and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013).
About The Role
Reporting to the Safety Systems Analyst, the successful candidate will be responsible for a range of data collection and collation activities including analysing and interpreting data for reporting purposes. The role is based in Melbourne CBD.
Some Of Your Duties Will Include
Implementing and maintaining a central repository for SWC data and information.Regular and effective communication with data providers and other stakeholders on how to best utilise SWC systems.Responding in a timely manner to planned and unplanned non-complex data enquiries and request received.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate :
Experience in data collation, data governance, data analysis and / or research.Experience in the interpretation, presentation and communication of quantitative data to a range of audiences.Experience in the use of recognised statistical and analytical applications. Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, Microsoft Power BI and / or Tableau is an advantage.
Qualifications
A relevant qualification in a related field, including experience in empirical, quantitative research techniques will be highly regarded.Experience in a health, safety or wellbeing role is highly desirable.
