Volunteer Law Clerk / PLT Placement

Kate King Legal is a boutique law firm specialising in Criminal Law located in the Perth CBD. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working law student or recent graduate to join our team as a Volunteer Law Clerk. Please note that some work undertaken can count towards Practical Legal Training hours.

You will be mentored by experienced solicitors and your duties will include :

Legal Research;

Trial preparation and attendance;

Assisting with affidavits and court documents;

Assisting with correspondence;

File Management;

Various administrative duties;

Utilising LEAP legal software; and

Attending court.

Selection Criteria

Essential

Ability to work independently under the supervision of legal practitioners;

Dedicated, hard-working, well organised and with a keen eye for detail;

Strong written and oral communication skills; and

Available one to two days per week.

Preferred

Some previous experience working in a legal or administrative environment; and

Interest and desire to practice in criminal law.
