Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Financial Services team. This key leadership role will support Council's financial sustainability through strategic modelling, business case analysis and long-term planning.

In this role, you will help shape Council's financial strategy, enhance reporting and budgeting processes and identify cost-saving and revenue-generating opportunities.

Working closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and teams across Council, you will lead core strategic and advisory financial functions, providing in-depth financial analysis and insights that drive financial performance and informed decision making. This includes budget coordination, long-term financial forecasting, and providing input and expert advice into the financial management of capital projects and the overall capital works program.

This role also manages and mentors a small team, while supporting business units with business case development, grant funding analysis and performance reporting.

The successful candidate will hold an accounting degree and be CA / CPA qualified (or working towards this) with significant financial experience and a strategic mindset. You will bring excellent analytical skills proven leadership and the ability to communicate insights effectively. Experience with financial systems particularly TechnologyOne is highly desirable.
