Your Role CSL's new state-of-the-art site in Tullamarine, Melbourne, features a 28,400 square metre office and manufacturing space dedicated to producing influenza vaccines for Australia and other markets. As an Instrument Technician, you will manage fault correction, calibration, preventative maintenance, and overhaul of instrumentation and control equipment.
Additional tasks include maintaining the integrity of the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), managing engineering stores, and performing work planning (scope, setup, isolation, and risk assessments), scheduled servicing, breakdowns, shutdowns, commissioning, and testing machines and equipment.
You will initially be employed under a 10-day fortnight to participate in the commissioning of the facility on day shift, then transition to a 24 / 7 rotating 12-hour shift pattern to support production.
Your Responsibilities Reporting to the Electrical Engineer - Electrical & Instrumentation, your duties will include :
Shutting down, isolating, and testing machines and equipment for maintenance Diagnosing faults, repairing, and calibrating control and monitoring loop elements, electronic systems, and sub-assemblies Diagnosing faults in interconnected and non-interconnected electrical circuits and systems Performing routine calibration of process instruments, both in-situ and in the workshop Reporting non-compliance conditions, abnormalities, and maintenance difficulties to the Maintenance Engineer - Electrical / Instrumentation Performing preventive maintenance following SOPs as directed Interpreting control system and electrical / electronic circuit diagrams and engineering drawings, and preparing sketches and modifications Working within a highly regulated environment with rigorous Operating Procedures Maintaining workshop equipment and reference calibration instruments suitable for a GMP environment Your Experience Relevant Trade Qualification as an instrumentation technician Experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG, or chemical production environments (desirable) Good Manufacturing Practices experience (desirable) Understanding of calibration methods and non-conformance investigations Computer literacy, preferably with SAP or similar systems Commitment to safety Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Our Benefits CSL Seqirus is committed to attracting and retaining talented employees.
