Leumeah High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school situated on Dharawal Country in South Western Sydney. Students and staff have a deep respect for the traditional custodians of the land in which they live, learn and work. The school has an enrolment of 702 students, with around 45% having a language background other than English and an additional 9% being First Nations students. The school includes a Support Unit named Bundalong, which consists of three Autism Spectrum classes.

Specific Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria :

• Demonstrated ability to lead a faculty that incorporates technology and innovation to foster student engagement and high academic expectations and meets the diverse learning needs of all students
• Highly developed instructional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead and manage a faculty with diverse experiences focusing on a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and assessment with the ability to analyse student performance data to refine teaching strategies and improve outcomes.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
