AIATSIS Application Pack Team Leader Metadata and Cataloguing
The Collections Services Group is responsible for the development, management, and
preservation of the AIATSIS Collection. The Group manages, describes, preserves, and digitises
the AIATSIS Collection.
The Collection Management Program sits within the Collection Services Group. Collection
Management consists of the Audiovisual and Photographic Unit and the Print and Published
Unit. Key operational activities of the program include cataloguing, accessioning, and describing
the AIATSIS Audiovisual, Photographic, Manuscript and Published collections to enhance
discoverability of, and access to, these collections for all Australians. Collection Management
works closely with Collection Development and Care, Collection Preservation and Digitisation,
and Collection Access teams to support the discoverability and accessibility of the AIATSIS
collection for all Australians.
The Team Leader plays a key role in the development, management and documentation of
AIATSIS collection materials. This work involves but is not limited to
wider program and agency business plan, policies and procedures.
The work involves the care and management of items with cultural sensitivities.
Key responsibilities of the role include :
allocating and undertaking the collection development and management activities, as
well as monitoring and reporting on the unit's key performance indicators.
