  • The Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Football coach who will lead, promote, nurture, and develop the Carey Football Program (AFL / AFLW). The Head of Football is responsible for coaching development, operations, and administration of the program for students in Years 5 - 12.

  • Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Educate and upskill a team of coaches to provide high quality programs for Carey students to learn and develop their skills and knowledge of football
  • Build a football coaching curriculum that provides progression from year 5-12
  • Identify talent that contributes positively to school culture and excellence
  • Develop, promote and coordinate afterschool and holiday clinic
  • Coordinate all aspects of the football program / calendars including celebration events and equipment for game / training days
  • Act as the primary contact for parents / guardians and students regarding the football program
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding football operations across the year
  • Manage and complete administration for the program including attendance, team lists and incident reports
  • Maintain and manage the football budget
  • Represent Carey at events and functions relevant to the program.
  • The Person

    • To be successful in this position, you will have :

  • A relevant AFL / AFLW Football Coaching Accreditation Certificate (Minimum Level 2)
  • Expertise in football (AFL / AFLW) is essential.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and developing a team in AFL / AFLW.
  • A passion for developing athletes and coaches.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Anaphylaxis Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
  • First Aid (Minimum Level 2) (or willingness to obtain)

    • A valid Employee Working With Children Check is a requirement of employment in this position.
