Job Title : OrthoptistJob Type : Part Time (4 days per week)Location : Melbourne Eye Surgeons, Malvern VICWe are seeking an enthusiastic part-time orthoptist to join our team at a busy small practice in Malvern to work alongside our 2 Ophthalmologists.

The desired days are Tuesday-Friday, 8hrs / day, 8.30am to 5.00pm or 9.00am to 5.30pm depending on clinic requirements.Clinic Specialties include : Cataract assessment and treatmentGlaucoma ManagementMedical RetinaPaediatrics and StrabismusGeneral OphthalmologyOrthoptist responsibilities include but are not limited to : General ophthalmic assessments including history taking, subjective refraction, vertometry, IOP(Icare) measurementOcular motility and binocular vision assessment of both children and adultsOCT (Spectralis)Humphrey Visual Field Testing (HFA3)Biometry (IOL Master 700)Optos Fundus PhotographySetting up and assisting with minor surgical procedures including intravitreal injectionsSome administration duties including surgical preparation and drafting correspondenceAnswering patient enquiriesPosition requirements : An Orthoptics qualificationProfessional Indemnity InsuranceRegistration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB)Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)Effective time management, priority management and problem solving skillsDemonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal skillsExperience in ocular motility and paediatric vision assessment will be highly regarded; however an interest and willingness to learn these skills will certainly be taken into consideration as we are happy to teach!Why work for us?Small, friendly teamModern and comfortable facilitiesOnsite parking and close walking distance to Tooronga StationCoffee, Tea and snacks providedIf you are interested in getting some exposure or developing / keeping up your skills in paediatrics and strabismus as well as general ophthalmology this would be a perfect role.
