Manage the day to day operations of the centre whilst on shift

  • Role located at Coburg Leisure Centre
  • 29.08 per hour (+25% casual loading) | Part Time or Casual

  • About the Centre
  • The YMCA has been engaged by Moreland City Council to work together to deliver the vision of an Active Moreland for the entire Moreland community. The YMCA's work in partnership with Council extends to all corners of Moreland however is based at the six Aquatic and Leisure Facilities in Brunswick City Baths, Coburg Leisure Centre, Coburg Outdoor Pool, Fawkner Leisure Centre, Pascoe Vale Outdoor Pool and Oak Park Leisure Centre.

    The main goal within Moreland is to create more opportunities for more people to be more active, more often. In particular, those community members who are least likely to participate in healthy and active lifestyles.

  • About the role
  • As a Duty Manager, you will have delegated authority of the Centre Manager. As well as identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks, Duty Managers will act as positive role models in an effort to build strong people, strong families and strong communities within the Active Moreland.

    As a Duty Managers at Coburg Leisure Centre you will maintain a broad knowledge of centre programs and services whilst at the same time managing a range of centre functions whilst on shift which may include :

  • Multi-tasking and manage shifts effectively
  • Recognise pool water quality, plant room and cleanliness issues and acting accordingly
  • Maintaining a focus on 'Big Picture' issues Centre wide
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of Centre's Emergency Action Plan
  • Manage staff rosters and breaks across the centre
  • Working autonomously as well as being an active leader.
  • This role is being offered as both Part Time or Casual, and the hourly rate is $29.08 (+25% casual loading) + Superannuation.

  • Essential Qualifications
  • Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR certificate
  • Other Desired Qualifications or Knowledge
  • Aquatic Technical Operator Skill Set Certificate
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of plant and Branch operational aspects
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
  • In keeping with current Victorian health directions it is a requirement that staff attending our facilities are fully vaccinated. Please be aware that you will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the recruitment process.
