Help shape solutions to the root causes of poverty through evidence-based research, collaborative learning, and strategic impact.
Job Type : Permanent Full-Timeworking38hours per week (Part-Time is also considered for this role)
Salary : Up to $ $114,695.78 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation.(pro-rata for part-time employment )

About the role : The Senior Evidence and Learning Officer leads a strategic, organisation-wide approach to evidence-building and learning within a specific thematic area. Working with internal and external stakeholders, the role strengthens monitoring and evaluation capability, supports continuous improvement, and informs decision-making and advocacy through rigorous, evidence-based insights.
Lead evidence-building and learning for programs within a thematic area, including developing frameworks, tools, and evaluation strategies.
Build internal capability by supporting teams with training, tools, and expert advice in monitoring, evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making.
Foster collaboration and learning, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement through stakeholder engagement and reflective practice.
Deliver high-quality insights, leading data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform service design, advocacy, and impact measurement.
Contribute to a positive and safe team environment, upholding BSL's values, governance standards, and commitment to child safety and inclusion.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences :
Relevant postgraduate qualification in evaluation or a related social science field, with at least 7 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, or applied research.
Strong expertise in evaluation design, including both qualitative and quantitative methods, data analysis (e.g. NVivo, SPSS, R), and responsible data use.
Proven ability to build capability and collaborate, working with stakeholders to develop frameworks, tools, and shared learning practices in human / community services.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a passion for evidence-informed impact, commitment to inclusion, and alignment with BSL's values and mission.
