About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to support and undertake research led by the Mental Health Evaluation Stream at the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research. The role will involve producing deliverables for a range of domestic and international mental health research projects. The role also provides the opportunity for specialist training and professional development in line with the Group's objectives and timelines.

About you

Your success in this role will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under 'About this role', the ideal person for this role will be someone who can demonstrate the following :

  • Thorough understanding of research processes.
  • Mixed methods research, analysis and report-writing skills.
  • High-level interpersonal and negotiation skills.Knowledge of serious mental illness : etiology, current approaches to treatment, and current relevant research issues is an advantage.
  • Mandatory Requirements

Possession of a degree from a recognised tertiary institution in health, social or behavioural sciences or a related field. Being currently enrolled in a higher degree program will be viewed favourably.

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01 / 16
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12 / 21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
