Renumeration
- Starting rate under the SCHADs award is $40.26 (Level 2, Pay point 1). Plus, additional allowances :
- First aid allowance
- Sleepover allowance
- Vehicle Allowance (KM compensated)
- Broken shift allowance
- What we're looking for
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic people to join our support services team to provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in accommodation settings both short and long term, as well as in the community across Adelaide and metropolitan areas.
- What does this look like in your day-to-day life?
A day in the life of a PAHS Support Worker could look like the following :
- Supporting individuals with activities of daily living in a supported independent living setting.
- This may include transporting clients in your personal vehicle or using a PAHS vehicle.
- Implementing therapy developed programs and updating therapists on progress.
- Providing personal care while promoting the dignity of the participant.
- Assisting with medication administration (providing and documenting medication that's given to participants).
- Assisting with PEG / Enteral feeding tube, catheter care and other complex health needs under the guidance of a clinical nurse.
- Providing mealtime management support to participant with dysphagia under the guidance of a senior speech pathologist.
- Working from a flexible 24 / 7 roster with the option of either passive or active overnights.
- Selection Criteria
- Have completed or are currently working towards completing a Certificate III or IV in
Individual Support, or Community Services.
- Currently be doing an allied health degree, nursing degree, education degree or similar.
- Have a certificate in Allied Health Assistance
- Work experience in the Disability, Community Services or Aged Care sector
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Essential Requirements (or willing to obtain)
- Current NDIS Worker Check.
- First Aid Certification.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- South Australian Drivers Licence.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Authorisation to work in Australia.
