Payroll Officer will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll every fortnight.
You have a strong understanding of payroll legislation, modern awards and industry EBA and have experience in handling pay queries.
Based on Support Office in Hawthorn this role is an integral part of payroll and Finance team.
In this role you willProcessing New staff contracts, terminations and amendments with accuracyProcess workers compensation claims, reconciling reimbursements and correspondence.Assist with fortnightly pay processing for the group.Assist with preparing payroll reportsUpdate Workcover staff listing and their Certificate of capacity expiry dates.Assist with reconciling salary packaging accounts and liaising with the external providerProcess pay queries in a professional manner by liaising with homes and P&C team as relevant to collate required information to deliver timely resolutionProvide advice and education to employees in relation to pay issues, award changes, new policies etc.End of financial year payroll processing. Including the balancing and production of payment summaries through STPSupport the Payroll function and broader finance team with process mapping, approaching tasks and service offering with a process improvement lens.Update and maintain payroll procedure documentsSupport with collating the preparation of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax and Superannuation Guarantee contributionsKeep across ongoing updates to awards and policies within the Aged Care space and best practice to maintain operational excellence.Attend education sessions on payroll legislation updates.What you Bring to the RoleMinimum of 3+ years' experience in PayrollUnderstanding of payroll compliance, taxation, superannuation and Workcover legislationAbility to interpret Modern Awards, EBAs, common law contracts and other state and industry legislationKnowledge of general payroll practices, procedures and operationsCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail and accuracyHonesty, integrity and discretionAbility to work autonomously and as part of the broader teamAbility to build rapport through excellent customer service and interpersonal skillsAdvanced computer software skills, Word and Excel and other accounting / payroll packagesBachelor's Degree in finance or Economics, Certificate III in Business or Certificate III in Financial ServicesNDIS Worker screening clearanceAbout UsAs a proudly Australian and independently owned provider with over 20 years of experience, Aeralife specialise in premium residential aged care.
